Yard Crew Member
Job Summary: Walker's Point Marina is seeking a motivated and reliable Yard Crew Member to join our team. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining our marina facilities and ensuring exceptional service to our customers. The Yard Crew Member will assist in various tasks related to the upkeep and operation of the marina, contributing to a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily maintenance and cleaning of marina grounds, including walkways, parking areas, and storage areas.
- Assist in the launching and retrieval of boats using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of boat storage areas and docks.
- Assist customers with docking procedures and provide general assistance as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on boats and equipment under the supervision of senior crew members.
- Operate and maintain marina equipment such as forklifts, tractors, and power washers.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations at all times.
- Assist in special projects and events as assigned by management.
- Communicate effectively with coworkers and customers to uphold a positive and professional marina environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a marina or boatyard setting, is advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of boat handling and maintenance techniques is desirable.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and challenges.
